For GHM’s first Swiss property, the Asian brand synonymous with style, service and serenity, chose renowned architect Jean-Michel Gathy to design these 123 spacious guest rooms and suites.
Traditional materials such as warm woods and natural stone create intimate yet visually striking accommodations while the extensive facilities include fine restaurants and cosy lounges, a ski-in living room with sports boutique, comprehensive spa and wellness centre with a tranquil retreat of hydrothermal baths and a duo of swimming pools against the stunning outdoor Alpine landscape.
Accommodation
Alpine chic meets Asian sleek in these sublime 123 guest accommodations endowed with captivating views of the Swiss Alps, Andermatt Village or Schöllenen Gorge. Sultry dark wood floors stylishly contrast the indulgently soft leather chairs and cosy sofas throughout these generous living spaces that start from 52 to 55 square metres.
Deluxe Suites extend to 100 square metres with picture windows or a private balcony from which to soak up the awe-inspiring alpine panoramas. For some, only the singular 134-square-metre Gemsstock Suite will suffice, named for its unobstructed views of the sky piercing Mount Gemsstock. Others will find their expectations exceeded among the three bedrooms of our grand 330-square-metre Furka Suite, with its full living, dining and kitchen facilities, as well as the utter indulgence of a private spa. Rich alpine woods and warm stone appear throughout all accommodations, allowing nature to work its calming wonders. Housed in the adjacent ‘The Chedi Residences’ wing and instantly accessible by interior passageway, Grand Deluxe Suites feel like private ski chalets and extend to balconies facing Andermatt’s iconic peaks including Gemsstock and Nätschen Mountain.
Painted murals inspired by 17th century European master Peter Paul Rubens add a romantic touch in some of these utterly modern environments, all of which are designed to maximise flexibility. Enjoy the toasty fireplace, for example, from the outside terrace, your lush living area and while snuggled up in your enticing ultra plush bed.
Dining
Swiss pinnacles set the stage at The Chedi Andermatt for a global culinary array. SPIN Studio led by Yasuhiro Koichi brings design flair as fresh as alpine air to The Restaurant, our all-day dining venue for central Swiss and European dishes plus our flavours from the Far East and an enticing five-metre high cheese cellar. Then take your taste buds on another journey entirely, with authentic Japanese sushi, sashimi and tempura in the evenings prepared by master chefs in The Chedi Andermatt’s signature eatery, The Japanese Restaurant, another sublime SPIN Studio design. Our most recent addition, The Chalet offers Swiss authenticity alongside our ice skating rink, but when the ice melts, our signature Truffled Fondue disappears too.
